Opportunities for YOU to write

In addition to the Write to Read workshops, Parisian Phoenix has a variety of upcoming opportunities where you can explore your own writing passions.
If you’re interested in learning more about Substack, the Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group will host Angel Ackerman on September 28, presenting Newsletters for Authors and an afternoon workshop on Using Substack, 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Morning lecture free, afternoon workshop free for members, $15 for non-members.
COMING IN OCTOBER:
October 2: Local Settings in Fiction Writing Workshop, with Angel Ackerman, at Easton Area Public Library Main Branch. Registration required. 6 to 7:30 p.m.
October 8: Inner Child Zine Workshop with Icehouse Literary Arts Committee, 6 to 8 p.m. at Bethlehem’s Ice House, 56 River Street.

October 14: NaNoWriMo Prep Writing Workshop. Registration required. Do you have an idea for a novel but aren’t sure where to start? NaNoWriMo might be for you! This workshop will touch on strategies for how to develop a story idea, create unique characters, and construct an outline.
EASTON BOOK FESTIVAL: OCTOBER 13-20, 2024
October 20: Look for upcoming details about Parisian Phoenix’s involvement with the Small Press Expo at Sigal Museum; a panel on local settings in fiction with Lehigh Valley authors Angel Ackerman, Larry Sceurman & Seneca Blue at the Quadrant; and Angel Ackerman’s participation with a panel on plot versus protagonist sponsored by Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group at the new location of Book & Puppet Company.
Parisian Phoenix-affiliated poets at Noble Quills
Everyone’s favorite Easton bookstore, Book and Puppet Company, is in the middle of a move from Centre Square to 161 Northampton Street, still in the city’s downtown district. They plan to reopen on/around September 22.
In November, Darrell Parry and McKenna Graf will feature at the Noble Quills Poetry Open Mic and Workshop (November 14, I believe at 6:30 p.m.) Organizer Magnus and I had discussed some workshop ideas— one of which focused on translating everyday events into poetry.
