Bookworm’s Magical Journey had a magnificent launch— the book has sold in three countries so far in its first week. Our local libraries have expressed interest in carrying this dyslexia-friendly title. Yesterday, author Larry Sceurman and his beautiful wife, Barbara, stopped by my warm and cozy sunporch to pick up some early review copies of the hardcover, some promotional bookmarks and Larry’s author one sheet so he can book his upcoming storytelling events.
Bookworm had its start as an oral storytelling event at public libraries’ summer reading programs. Now, Larry has documented this story and provided an opportunity for parents and caregivers to explore together the journey of learning to read. As an author with dyslexia, Larry wanted to demystify the process for children who might struggle to make sense of the words.
