The fourth week of the month is always hairy for me because my local public library’s board meets, of which I am vice president, and my local writers’ group meets, and of that I am president.

Plus, if you’re like me, the mundane items like bills and finances seem to weigh heavier at the end of the month.
I decided to treat myself to a little outing last night– I went to visit some of my artist friends from the Arts Community of Easton at their Pop Up Art experience in the plaza behind Easton Public Market.
While there, the merriment abounded and it was nice to see some familiar faces and some familiar art styles. I finished my slides for my upcoming workshop at Easton Area Public Library on tricks to combat writers block, and in there I mention how music and art can both shake our brains out of a funk when we’re finding it hard to write. I know I lack in artistic ability, but I’ve been practicing folding paper into zine formats with the intent of preparing some zines for the future.

My stroll through downtown Easton on a temperate Friday evening was a great precursor to the Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group meeting today, where we heard from Lara Ehrlich on The Writer’s Life, and in a few minutes, we’ll be dipping into a workshop on marketing.
Because Lara is a few hours away in Connecticut, this morning’s program was on Zoom, and her afternoon workshop will be remote as well.
