In the next couple weeks I should have in my hands the first copies of Dianna Sinovic’s supernatural thriller, Scream of the Silent Sun. The official release date is April 5, and I can confidently announce that pre-orders should be live by the end of the weekend.
Origins of the tattoo cover
Did you know?
We started with the traditional book covers for Scream of the Silent Sun, trying to capture the protagonist and the supernatural elements and nothing seemed to work. Emails and discussions continued until finally Dianna and I hit on a solution that seemed right: We needed a tattoo artist to draw the cover.
You see, in the book, Quinn Thomas finds old letters from her brother who left home as a teenager after a disagreement with their parents. In one of them, a mysterious drawing of a sun tumbles free and somehow becomes a very real sun tattoo on her arm. The tattoo changes as Quinn tries to find her brother and signals that time may be running out…
We had to get the tattoo right.

Dianna approached a tattoo artist she admired— and that’s one of the values that Parisian Phoenix holds dear, where we can we work with local artists to build unusual covers that aren’t merely stock images cobbled together, and they certainly are not AI-derived.
Kiel Ferrari of Integrity Tattoo Studios (read more about his studio and work here) designed and colored the tattoo as it appears on the cover. Pretty cool, right?
The book officially launches April 5, but Dianna plans to have copies for a soft release at the Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group Write Stuff Conference March 15. Come see us at the Homewood Suites by Hilton in Center Valley, Pa., if you’d like one of these advance copies.
