When Dianna Sinovic asked me if I could apply for formal recognition as a publisher from the International Thriller Writers association, I did not expect that the application process would take two hours and require research, sections of my business plan and a copy of one of my contracts. Then I also noticed that it needed to be mailed to the organization– no submitting a PDF online for this one.
Dianna is a member of the organization and has plans to attend their annual ThrillerFest. She explained that they have a debut author program and that she hoped to apply for it. But only members published by vetted and approved publishers were eligible.
So I applied.
I didn’t expect to hear anything for a while, and we only mailed the package a week or two ago. The other night while reading Iron Flame in bed I received an email, the good news kind. My application had been approved and they would add my company’s name to the official list online.
And here it is:

Today I received another email. This time from Dianna. They approved her application to join the debut author’s program.
