Poetry celebrations

April is National Poetry Month and we have lots of events planned. On April 10, we will have our last scheduled FREE monthly writers workshop at Easton Area Public Library. This month’s topic is Poetry in Everyday Life and will feature brief readings by McKenna Graf, Darrell Parry and Nancy Scott. There will be a few brief exercises and a discussion of some forms and tricks and plenty of time for questions. That event runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Register here.

Darrell and Nancy will both by a part of the EarthWoven Storytelling event at Bethlehem’s Ice House at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 24. They are joining oral storytellers including Parisian Phoenix author Larry Sceurman. Purchase tickets for that event here.

And if you want more of McKenna Graf, her next volume of poetry, The Depths, will release June 16 with a book launch party in the Barnes & Noble on the Upper East Side in Manhattan on June 18.

And if you are interested in the local poetry scene at large, Noble Quills will host Poet Palooza 3 at Easton’s Book and Puppet Company on April 25. Parisian Phoenix will be there!
