Parisian Phoenix Publishing

Jill Peters, one of the early presidents of the Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group, spoke to the organization Saturday April 26 about team writing and working on the book Hear Us Out: Six Questions About Belonging and Belief (Fortress Press, 2023).

She approached the group with wisdom and charisma, and I thought some of her message might be appreciated by the followers of Parisian Phoenix Publishing.

Some nuggets that ring true:

• We go into every situation to learn.
• Good communication skills require three parts: speaking, writing and quality research.
• Most creative endeavors involve reimagining the familiar into something brand new.
• Asking questions and listening to the answers holds great power.
• Never assume a “sale” or “loss”– always give your best effort.
• Approach each new situation with curiosity and creativity.
