Fun recognitions for Group Portrait and Coach of the Building

Ben Goluboff, one of the two authors behind Group Portrait, our recently-released poetry chapbook featuring speculative biographical poetry about the artists in a photograph from Peggy Guggenheim’s circa World War II salon, was interviewed for Classic Chicago magazine. The piece by Lenore Macdonald also provides a lovely review of the book and of Ben’s work at-large. Though I must say that as publisher, the sentence that sent chills up my spine was this one:

The book, from cover-to-cover, is a complete work of art in and of itself.

We all can thank art director Gayle Hendricks for that praise.

If you wish to read the whole article, you can do so here, Five Questions with Poet and Professor Benjamin Goluboff.

Treat yourself to your own couple of this gorgeous book here.

Also congratulations to author and historian Julian Costa, as he was recognized by the East Stroudsburg Area School District school board for his work on Coach of the Building. Coach of the Building is a career history of Richard Carty, a local educator who was instrumental in the opening of East Stroudsburg Area High School North. The school celebrates its 25th year this year, and Julian has chronicled the career of Carty, the construction of the school, and the district’s reaction to September 11 all in a single book.
