My recent newsletters have included what I shall call “autumnal reflections.” I wondered if this was a “cop out” and a potential disappointment to my readers. But I have heard from several of you with each newsletter that I voiced either something you needed to hear or something you have recently felt.
Just an example of how you need to trust yourself more. I often say that the smallest steps can have huge influence, and the flashy big splash often falls flat. I believe, and part of why I have built Parisian Phoenix the way I have, that one-on-one relationships/points-of-contact even when brief can have large reverberations that sometimes bring light to someone’s eyes immediately or plant a seed that lies dormant and blooms years later.
But it’s hard to stay the course when you’re invested in the slow-but-steady, paced kind of business development— and my recent award of a $2,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Creative Entrepreneurial Fund has given my the opportunity to explore various forms of paid advertising both in the national (Amazon Ads) and the local market.
This week, I have a meeting that will include my checkbook where I will commit to the next phase of my advertising project. I’m excited, but also trepidatious. So far, I have gained a wealth of information more so than a return on investment financially. That meeting is with WDIY Public Radio in Bethlehem, Pa.
