Last Saturday, I spent the afternoon selling books and networking with other authors at Madness Distillery in Lehighton, Pa. It’s about five miles outside of Palmerton, Pa., which is (for some unknown reason) one of my favorite towns to visit.
Much of the day surprised me— from the moment I arrived and read a sign that said “ADULT BOOK FAIR TODAY.”
I wondered: Had I brought the right books?
I brought the Fashion and Fiends series because even though it’s horror, it has vibes of paranormal romance, dark fantasy, and women’s fiction. I brought the Juicy Bits anthology because it seemed to suit the Booze and Books 2 theme. And I brought more traditional romances— sweet Any Landing You Walk Away From… and rom-com Trapped: What if Skunks Were Matchmakers?
But if it were an ADULT BOOK fair, perhaps more of M.Christian’s erotica should have been in my totes. But was it more a BOOK FAIR for ADULTS?

I knew the authors for this event wrote romance for the most part, though Dianna Sinovic was there with her supernatural thriller Scream of the Silent Sun (consider purchasing that book here) and a met another author who wrote sci-fi. (I am usually better at noting names, but I now forget).
I caught up with familiar faces from the now defunct Pocono Lehigh Romance Writers, including Autumn Jordan. I was a member of PLRW when I hoped I might be able to “convert” my Fashion and Fiends novels into a paranormal romance series, but I’m just not good at the happily ever after. Mine is more happy-kinda-sorta or maybe “happy we made it out alive.”

I wrote more about the day, and some of the strange emotions I had on the way to Lehighton on my personal blog, angelackerman.com. You can read the entry here, but it does discuss let’s say my Buddhist leanings toward the suffering of a bee, and it talks more about the individual sales I made at the event.
I also made a stop in my favorite town at my favorite pizza place.
