I hired a mime

On a whim last week, I hired a mime.

Meet Polly the Pantomime Person. (Pictures borrowed, respectfully from her Instagram.) Hopefully, as I learn more about Polly I can share that information with you. But I commissioned Polly to do some publicity material for me, some skits, some stills, all in celebration of publishing 50 books in 5 years.

Two photos of the same mime, one in a suit and one in a field of bright flowers

But, why a mime?

Parisian Phoenix Publishing started because of the Fashion and Fiends series, and a good portion of the ensemble cast of that horror series are French. Since I tend to embrace the quirky, I thought nothing would be more French and more unique than a mime.

Polly should receive a big box of Parisian Phoenix books later today. I can’t wait to hear what she thinks.

Pun intended.
