2021 in review: it’s all about books

Two Thousand Twenty-One is shaping up to be the year of the book, at least in my career. If the print book is dead, please don’t tell my authors.

I started the year with one book project: Stops Along the Way by Charles Ticho. I started it back at the beginning of the pandemic—March 2020. I had done another book for Mr. Ticho about ten years ago, a huge volume of geneology. While he was stuck in Israel for the pandemic, he began submitting his survival stories to the Jerusalem Post and In Jerusalem. Initially, he just wanted these stories formatted 8.5×11 so they could be easily shared via pdf and photocopied.

After the first draft, it became a book, and it was smaller. Many iterations happened…
