A night at the Stick Figure Open Mic

Tonight several members of the Parisian Phoenix community (publisher Angel Ackerman, poet Darrell Parry, editor Nancy Scott and anthology contributor and artist Maryann Riker) attended the Stick Figure Poetry Open Mic hosted by Darrell on the third Thursday of the month at Mary Meuser Memorial Library.

Amid green cupcakes, we enjoyed poetry and prose from all of the participants— including newcomer David Fredette of DavidFredetteBooks.com. David purchased several Parisian Phoenix titles.

Several excerpts from Not an Able-Bodied White Man with Money graced the event. Angel read “The Nail Polish Story,” a piece written with Nancy and Eva Parry. Maryann read Thurston Gill’s pieces, remarking how they were her favorite in the book so far.

Parisian Phoenix representatives will also attend the April Stick Figure Open Mic.

Next weekend, March 26, they will attend the Lehigh Valley Book Festival as a vendor.
