Easton Book Festival launches Friday night, October 21, and will extend through October 30.
Many familiar Parisian Phoenix names will be a part of the festival:
- At 5 p.m. October 22, Nancy Scott, poet of several chapbooks, editor at Parisian Phoenix, and assistant editor of and contributor to last winter’s anthology, Not an Able-Bodied White Man with Money, and the upcoming nonfiction cat book and fundraiser for Feline Urban Rescue and Rehab, As the FURR Flies, will headline a poetry reading at Book and Puppet Company in Centre Square. She also appears in the video presentation, Words in the Ward.
- Darrell Parry, poet, editor of the Stick Figure Poetry Journal and author of Parisian Phoenix’s full length poetry book, Twists: Gathered Ephemera, and contributor to last winter’s anthology, Not an Able-Bodied White Man with Money, and this fall’s The FURR Itty Bitty How–to-Cat and the upcoming nonfiction, As the FURR Flies, will be reading (and hosting) at several events during the festival, headlining at Book and Puppet Company in Centre Square at 5:30 p.m. on October 22. His animation and work will appear in the video presentation, Words in the Ward.

- At 7:30 p.m., on October 22, also at Book and Puppet, Publisher and author of the Fashion and Fiends series, Angel Ackerman, and Kink Noir author and contributor to last winter’s anthology, Not an Able-Bodied White Man with Money, William D. Prystauk will be leading “Sex in the Text,” a conversation about making love between the pages.
- October 30, 12 to 3 p.m., also at Book and Puppet, Parisian Phoenix will be part of a small press book expo. It’s a great time to buy some books and support small, local presses.
- Staff Photographer Joan Zachary will be serving as an official photographer for the festival.
