David’s Little Town in a Good Place

Julian Costa’s new book, a memoir by David Scott Campbell, David’s Little Town, debuted earlier this week. The unfinished memoir, which Costa discovered during his research for Campbell’s biography, chronicles life in industrial Galion, Ohio, in mid-century (1950s) America.

The book launched quietly, as we had some trouble with the proof as this errant publisher accidentally chose the wrong paper quality in the final stages of prepress, delaying release by a day. The book, which I believe is officially our 16th title, with Echo City Caper’s Christmas Special hitting shelves today as our 17th, and Juicy Bits, the BDSM/fetish erotica anthology scheduled for early October as number 18.

Even so, Amazon implies that David’s Little Town is a bestseller of sorts, ranking at #48 in the educator biography niche. Costa and the deceased Campbell join names like Pat Conroy (whose teaching memoir is in the top fifty in several different formats in several slots) and Frank McCourt (who has places for both Angela’s Ashes and ‘Tis). Familiar title Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom has number three and several other positions. And other title holders in the category include astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, anti-slavery crusader Booker T. Washington, anthropologist Joseph Campbell, and disability advocate Helen Keller. So that’s some challenging companions.

If you’re interested in David’s Little Town you can buy it from Amazon here or Barnes & Noble here. And you can always ask your favorite bookseller to find the title in the Ingram database and order it for you.

I hope to compile a new Substack this weekend which will include information on the Easton Book Festival, featuring the launch of the erotic anthology at Easton Book Festival After Dark, tarot workshops with Eva Parry, storytime with Echo City Capers and more author appearances.
