- Official launch of The Night of Swaying Grass, a memoir of 62 poems by R. Diskin Black. From losing his father to cancer as a young child to life in the East Village of New York City in the 1980s, Black’s poignant poems address issues that resonate across generations.
- March 12: McKenna Graf reading as part of Noble Quills poetry at Book & Puppet Company in downtown Easton (Pa.).
- March 14: Joan Zachary shooting author headshots as part of the Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group The Write Stuff conference in Center Valley, Pa. Joan provides author photos as an add-on to registrants of the writers’ conference. See GLVWG.org for details.

- April 23: Mark your calendar for Larry and Friends, a special storytelling event featuring Larry Sceurman at Bethlehem’s Icehouse on Sand Island.
- April 25: R. Diskin Black speaks with Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group on on the intersection of poetry and memoir, morning program at 11 a.m. In the afternoon session (1:30 to 3 p.m.), participants will delve deeper into the morning’s topic, ask questions, and complete a brief exercise, and share that piece of writing if they desire. Morning lecture free, afternoon workshop free to GLVWG members, $15 for non-members. For more information, visit GLVWG.org. May
- In May, we have two scheduled children’s book releases. Madeleine Marriott presents her watercolor-illustrated picture book, Operation Hug, in which the creatures of the forest explore how to hug their porcupine friend. And old friends Echo City Capers will officially release their “growing into” picture book-to-middle grade, The Legend of Mr. Toots: A Silent But Smelly Caper.
- May 16: Art Director Gayle Hendricks presents Graphic Design Basics for Authors to Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group, 11 a.m. morning presentation and 1:30 to 3 p.m. workshop. This workshop is for writers who hire designers and DIYers. It centers on what makes a good cover and interior, choosing cover images, basic design and type concepts, resolution, etc. Morning lecture free, afternoon workshop free to GLVWG members, $15 for non-members. - June 13: Anticipated release date of McKenna Graf’s final Archive of Adolescence poetry series, which began with Writing Over the Word Limit her freshman year of college; continued with Parisian Phoenix with Mortals, Myths and Maybes and The Depths; and now concludes with What’s Left?
