Part of creating Parisian Phoenix meant having a vision and surrounding that vision with the talent to realize that vision. Angel Ackerman spent 15 years as a journalist where she learned a variety of tricks from professional photographers.
In the early days of her marriage to poet Darrell Parry, Angel and Darrell invested in a fairly impressive Nikon that shot a plethora of vacations, road trips, everyday adventures and eventually baby photos.
But when 35 mm faded into oblivion and print became a relic, the Nikon said goodbye at a yard sale.
Occasionally Angel sees something that ignites her amateur photographer passion but knows she doesn’t have the equipment to pursue it. So she called Joan Zachary, the official Parisian Phoenix photographer, and they had a photo adventure.
