This blog has mentioned my favorite podcasts in a previous post, but the reality is that there are so many podcasters and so many niches that even the ones that aren’t as entertaining end up on my list. And sometimes I find new favorites, like Joanna Penn and Sacha Black.
For more about some of my playlists on Spotify for writers, click here.

Sacha Black and Rachael Herron recently launched a new special edition of their podcast(s), The Black Herron, where the two of them have a casual conversation and allow us to sit in on it.
It’s just the write blend of silly and informative. Apparently, Sacha got Rachael hooked on OhWrite.co, a free website that offers competitive writing sprints. Each writer gets a blank document in either a global or a private room. (I did start one for Parisian Phoenix called Friends of Parisian Phoenix Publishing.) Writers can see the avatar and word count of other writers’ in the room but you can’t see their work.
I made my free account (user name: ParisBirdBooks) and tried it for five minutes today. I got 244 words. It’s a nice way to jumpstart motivation.

In other news: The FURR Itty-Bitty “How to Cat” Book has its ISBN assigned and its info uploaded to IngramSpark. I did another round of copy editing. I couldn’t believe how complicated it was to find some of the right categories. Because, of course a book on pet cats would be classified under “nature and the natural world: general interest,” subcategory “domestic animals & pets.”
The file should be sent to the printer/distributor hopefully within the next 48 hours.
To the parisianphoenix.com owner, Thanks for the post!
